Hutchinson thermoplastic air ducts will fly on A330
The first thermoplastic air ducting system ATA 21 for Airbus A330 is being engineered and manufactured.
Hutchinson develops solutions for ultra-light air ducts with a significant reduction of weight and costs by using thermoplastic materials and an automated manufacturing process.
Our thermoplastic ducts are more robust against handling damage and support cost savings in installation and service life. They can be realized with a one layer setup and local reinforcements and represent a major breakthrough for air distribution systems. They offer a double digit significant cost and weight savings compared to state of the art solutions.
Hutchinson thermoplastic air ducts are flying on B787 today, and are under development for installation on A330 next year.
